I will be the first to admit it, once I find something I like, it is hard for me to move on to something that might be even better. To that end I am pretty much a goggle snob. I have one brand that I have always used and really don’t have much interest in trying something else. Forgive me for saying so, but at times I receive free goggles at industry events and will actually give them away  instead of mixing them in with my chosen brand.
Now along comes the EKS Brand goggles. You have to agree that they sure look good. That is what drew me to them initially, thinking how good they would look in a photo shoot. I won’t say that I was hooked after one ride, but I did like them. It is now a full year later and I have been dragging two sets of these around everywhere and have to say that I am a full convert. Let me tell you a little bit why.
Frame Quality – After a year of use, both frames still look like new. The foam is holding up very well, no tears or coming apart. The strap keeps it mojo well and does not stretch.
Lenses – The clarity of the lenses is excellent. The light blue and yellow tints help bring out definition and reduce glare. The clear lens has a slight polarizing effect, again reducing glare. After a year of regular use these are finally due to be replaced.
Air Flow – The foam seems to have a very good balance of air flow. It filters enough to keep most of the dirt out. The big deal for me is that it does not give “too much” flow while dual sport riding on pavement. Many goggles let so much air that the buffeting bothers my eyes. The anti-fog lenses keep things clear under most common fogging conditions.
Fit – All around quite good. They fit well around my face and seal up good. They work in all the helmets I have tried. They are very comfortable against the face.
When new they have a tremendous amount of static and it takes a couple of washings to get rid of that. I normally use Pledge on my lenses. It is a bit difficult to buff off of these lenses for some reason. I spoke with an EKS Brand  sponsored rider who tells me he just uses soapy water to clean his lenses.
