2011 Dealernews - Indianapolis Dealer Expo:

The KK Motorcycle booth was a busy spot this past weekend. The 44th edition of the Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo was not such a surprise for the KK staff. We knew we were bringing our “A” game as they say. With new marketing plan for products and the company itself. Along with the dealer portal and with web access at the show we were able to set dealers up on the spot, take orders and help dealers learn this new system offering from KK Motorcycle Supply.

Friday was the first day of the show for this year. Where the show used to start on Saturday and run into Monday this year it was shifted to start a day earlier and end on Sunday. Bryan Kelley (VP), Jim Good (Marketing), Dave Webb (Portal Developer) and Norm our great road sales guy from the great north east was on hand to help the dealers learn about new products and more from KK Motorcycle Supply.

Day two turned out really quick to be the hottest day for the show. With what had to be a record number of people in attendance for the show in its new location, and new dates walking the floor. KK’s full road and house sales staff was on hand to meet with vendors and dealers alike. We not only had back to back vendor meetings in the morning but we were able to sign up just around 20 new dealers that all came looking for what so many dealers know KK already offers and that is top notch customer service and quick order turn shipping.

Our Celebrity guest was champion racer Bryan Smith – Kawasaki racer and Flat track star stopped by KK booth midafternoon and hung out with Pat Kelley (President of KK Motorcycle Supply) and Dave Bowman (KK Race Sponsor Supervisor). Bryan was nice enough to sign a few posters, and take a few pictures with fans. The day came to an end late into the evening with dealer dinners, vendor parties and just some time to reflect on the day with the staff of KK.

Sunday! SUNDAY! Sunday, parking might not have been free but still large groups of dealers walking the floor, well over what we have seen in the past. KK was still sitting down with Dealers like Midwest Custom Cycle Works, Countryside ATV & Cycle Redline Fabrication and more, all the way past the end of the show. While other people were packing up there booths, KK was still talking with Dealers from as far away as Puerto Rico and Vancouver Canada.

All in all it was a great show for KK Motorcycle Supply and the Powersports industry. From new products, to old dealers, everyone got to take in the great parts of the show and the city of Indianapolis. KK Motorcycle Supply has already confirmed their booth location for the 2012 show which will once again be held at the Indianapolis Lucas Oil Expo Center downtown Indianapolis. So thanks to the people from Dealernews for putting together the show.

On behalf of the entire staff at Bel-Ray, our domestic and international distributors, and dealers, we would like to congratulate Chad Reed and Two Two Motorsports on their record-setting victory Saturday night in San Diego, California.

The poor weather conditions were no match for Reed, as he grabbed the holeshot and early lead ahead of the field. He was passed briefly by Trey Canard, only to get back by Canard when he made a mistake. Reed went on to ride a mistake-free main event, leading the remaining 14 laps to the checkered flag and the win.

This was the first win for Reed in the 2011 Supercross season and the first win for the Two Two Motorsports Bel-Ray team. The victory is also Reed’s 6th at the San Diego round, pushing him past Supercross icon, Jeremy McGrath for the most wins in San Diego Supercross history.

KK Motorcycle @ 2011 V-Twin Expo (Show summary)

KK Motorcycle Supply has had some time to take in the V-Twin show over this past weekend. Bryan, Pat Kelley and Jim Good walked the floor at the show stopping in to talk to possible new product vendors like Freedom Exhaust Company out of California. With their chrome and black line of full exhaust and slip on’s KK feels this could be a great addition to the catalog and growing it footprint in the V-twin market.
One unsuspecting site was the booth sponsored by the Motorcycle Museum with images from one of the first races in Daytona and many other tracks. Some of these images thou not confirmed could possibly have images of KK’s Founder racing around in the dirt and sand.

After taking in the old images from the museums booth we moved on down to talk to a Vendor that was just recently added to our online catalog and will make a full line showing in our next printed version. Vee Rubber tire is a new and upcoming Tire company in the V-Twin market but has been in the industry for many years. They had their “Monster” series tire on show for the custom bike builders but also they had in the booth the brand new Sport Touring tire that will be out in time for spring so contact your KK Dealer closest to you get find out more about this tire.
Another item dealers can take advantage of is the “Original Bike Spirits” Spray on cleaner and polish. There will be a promotion running for KK dealers on this time and all OBS products. Check out the Hot Products section starting next week to learn more.
The highlight of the show was the new products, and seeing old friends. But an unexpected delight for everyone coming into the show was the Easyrider booth out front with the “Topless Tech” model signing current issues of Easyrider. Do you know her name? Be the first to e-mail us her name and we will send you out a free KK t-shirt in the size of your choice.

would make the catalog even better or just let us know how great you think this one is.  We will try
to implement as many of the suggestions as we can on the next catalog.

It seems like when the topic of oil and lubricants comes up in a conversation most people have pretty strong feelings on what they think is the best.  They always have that "story" of how they were using this product and then changed to that product and there bike runs soooo much better now.  What do you think?  Is there that much difference?  What is your favorite?  Here is you chance to let the world know!!
